We started Soleful in 2021 in a quiet corner of Porto, frustrated that the shoes we wanted to wear — honest, repairable, beautifully patterned — had mostly disappeared. So we made them ourselves, one last at a time.
Every silhouette begins with a wooden last, hand-carved and tested for hundreds of kilometres before we ever cut leather. If a pair doesn't sit right at month four, we start again. There is no seasonal calendar to chase.
We work with a forty-person atelier we've partnered with since the beginning. Patterns are cut by hand. Welts are stitched, not glued. Every pair carries the initials of the maker on the inside of the tongue.
